In the Chicago Tribune article linked below, you can see a democrat finally making a bold move at a controversial tax policy change. Hynes wants to change the state’s flat tax rate into a sloped rate. Instead of taxing everyone 3%, he wants to tax the wealthy (those making over 200k / year) up to 7.5%, generating an additional 5.5 billion dollars in tax revenue. It’s about time someone had the balls to make this move. Maybe other state governors will take the hint that Hynes has given.
